easy Carbon Credits

easyJet has just added its own carbon offset option for its customers, which you can learn more about here. The company follows a couple of years behind its bigger rivals, who implemented such programs long ago.

To consider:
What do you think has kept them from doing this sooner? What are the benefits of such a program, when easyJet's clients could offset their flights with an independent company?

easyJet didnt apply this program earlier because it was so expensive for them, but now, as they are considered one of the most successful budget airlines in Europe, and their revenue is growing exponentially, it became more feasible for them to apply the carbon offesting program.
The main benefit of the program is to be environmentally friendly and to demonstrate the extent of the company's social responsibility.

I think it is a question of image, now where sustainable development is important in any domain.
Because when we think about 'cheep' thinks, we often think about 'durty' and 'old' thinks, EasyJet has to find a manner to 'cleen' their image. The proof is that Easy is buying some new and with reduced emission of CO2 airplanes.
